Never hoe around hostas – Views from the Greenhouse

I had an enjoyable Sunday afternoon driving to Spalding from Halesworth listening to the BBC’s gardening Question time.

One particular question caught my attention which was “My favourite Hosta (‘Great Expectations’) has started to send out plain, unvarigated leaves, is there anything I can do to stop this?” this was answered by Christine Walkden who advised not to hoe around hostas and ensure a good level of mulch. Not hoeing was news to me and certainly something to think about.
